I think I had a moment of getting incredibly fed up with sites that cannot run without tens of megs of javascript that will cause the site to not function if it's blocked (I am blocking it) (also sites have started blocking *me* because they can't run their fingerprinter scripts) and remembered smol.pub exists. Now, I have several blogs, but there's something charming about a place to write pretty much in plaintext only that's also accessible via Gemini and Gopher.

...which is why the site is formatted kind of weird, because it's using the Gemtext markup language rather than, say, Markdown.
I'm definitely going to keep updating my other sites (and really need to like, work on making posts on them!) but there's a kind of delight in playing around in a space that's really hostile to modern conceptions of interaction on the web, even though it's a relief that most people are moving to bluesky from the-artist-formerly-known-as-twitter.
